TUM signed a collaboration agreement with IAW’s competence center in the field of dual higher education

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, the Technical University of Moldova and IAW’s competence center from the Republic of Moldova signed a collaboration agreement in the field of dual higher education. The agreement were signed by the rector of the Technical University of Moldova, university professor, dr. hab. Viorel BOSTAN and the Head of Eastern Europe Department, Nicoleta Stăvilă.

The objective of the agreement is to establish a mutually beneficial partnership between TUM and IAW, thus ensuring a quality learning process through work.

The implementation of dual education takes place within the Erasmus+ international project “COOPERA – Integrating Dual Higher Education In Moldova and Ukraine”, financed by the European Union (reference number: 617490-EPP-1-2020-1-MD-EPPKA2-CBHE-SP ).

The rector of TUM, university professor, dr. hab. Viorel Bostan, vice-rector of UTM Dinu Țurcanu, project coordinator from TUM – director of the UTM Erasmus+ University Center, university professor, PhD. Larisa Bugaian and the FCIM associate dean, Dr. Dumitru Ciorbă spoke about the significance and importance of dual higher education in the engineering field and welcomed the involvement of IAW in this project.

Starting with the next academic year, TUM will implement dual education in the undergraduate programs of Automatic and Informatics and Robotics and Mechatronics, programs which, due to their specificity, require the continuous involvement of the industrial environment in the training of young specialists.

The cooperation between TUM and IAW will be carried out at all stages of the realization of dual higher education. Thus, IAW will be involved in the development of education plans in accordance with current and perspective needs; in the selection of potential students and the training of professional skills in the real work environment.
